What Other Are Saying

Very neat museum and well kept!

Very interesting place, yet really fun to walk around for both kids and adults. Staff is super friendly.

Absolutely the best place to access historical and genealogy information in Kansas, my home state.

Much enjoyment was had this morning with over two hours of exploring the various artifacts and exhibits that tell the story of Kansas. Lots to see including the "one from every county" exhibit that was no doubt difficult to put together but gave a great overview of the state.

The train was obviously the star of the show. I understand that the museum was built around the train and I can understand why. It's in excellent restored condition and it is open for walking through. For the kids who love trains, they'll absolutely love this.

Well worth the price of admission here. I had a good time.

Worth the Stop

We had a tour guide which took us through and filled in a lot of the background on the exhibits. His knowledge about the train which is a real ATSF locomotive with coal car and a drover car and an administrative car, plus office and dining car. The history of Kansas is shown from Indians to McDonalds, with a wagon and a replication of a 1950s diner.

Step Back in Time

This museum was a great look at the surrounding area through time. Great displays of famous influential people over the years and progress of civilization, Indians, cowboys immigrants, buffalo, horses, cattle, trains and covered wagons, etc. Well worth a trip!
