INTERNSHIPS
The Kansas Historical Society offers two internships with stipends.
John Ripley Internship
For undergraduate and graduate college students
Full-time (40 hours per week for eight weeks)
Offered every summer
$2,500 stipend
Qaulifications:
Must meet at least one of the following requirements:
- Enrolled at Washburn University, Topeka
- Graduated from a high school in Shawnee County, Kansas
- Resident of Shawnee County, Kansas
Immediate family members of Kansas Historical Society or Kansas Historical Foundation staff are not eligible.

Marylouise Meder Internship
For graduate students
Full-time (40 hours per week for eight weeks)
Usually offered during summers in odd years
$2,500 stipend
Qualifications:
Interests in archival studies, digital collections, and Kansas history.
Immediate family members of Kansas Historical Society or Kansas Historical Foundation staff are not eligible.

Internships for Credit (non-paid)
For college students seeking credit hours some internships may occasionally be available, including:
Kansas Museum of History - graduate students interested in museum studies, education, and history
State Archives - graduate students interested in in library science, archival studies, and history
Cultural Resources - college students interested in archeology, historic preservation, and history.
Communications - college students interested in writing, research, and visitor studies
Application
Include cover letter, resume, references, current transcript, letters of recommendation
Application deadline: April 15 for summer; June 15 for fall, November 15 for spring
